O.T.S. (Final Roster Edition)

with one comment

Here are rumble’s I have been hearing out of Green Bay:

Look for Patt Lee, Charlie Peprah, Brandon Underwood and Justin Harrell are all players that may be put on I.R. This allows the Packers to keep them and develop (Underwood/Lee) for another year.

The Packers don’t want to cut Jamon Meredith because he would be claimed. Tony Moll is the odd man out.

I hear Kory Hall  and Quinn Johnson will be the fullbacks and the Packers will try to trade John Juhn.

Tyrell Sutton will be kept and Kregg Lumpkin will not be. This is partly because of how well Sutton has played and partly because of Brandon Jackson’s ankle injury.

Brian Brohm will be on the Packers for the 2009 season. If the Packers add another quarterback, look for Flynn to be put on I.R. because of his shoulder.

Other rumblings around the NFL that could effect the Packers:

Jeff Garcia MAY BE CUT by Oakland. He poses a threat to JaMarcus Russell and Al Davis will not have that. If so, look for the Packers to go hard after him as their back-up.

Ben Watcon of New England is also a “bubble” player. He is another player the Packers would have intrest in. I find this intersting since Lee and Finley are playing at a high level, but then again if they were able to sign him he would add great debth @ the TE spot.

Jamaal Lewis is a player that may be cut by Cleveland. 3 1,000 yard seasons and a load to bring down, may be a nice “short yardage” back for the Packers (if he is released).

Tarvaris Jackson will be traded or cut by the cut down date. He is another player the Packers have their eye on. Remember Ted Thompson liked him coming out of college and would have drafted if he was around in the 3rd round.

AJ Feely will be traded and the Packers have received a call from Philly. No word on what was discussed.

Tampa has also called the Packers about Luke McCown or Josh Johnson.

Glenn Sharpe is a player that may be getting a call from 1265 (even if it is as a PS player).

Don’t look for Andrew Walter to be in Green Bay.

  1. Any news on Brad Jones? Glad to hear we will keep Brohm. I am still not comfortable with him yet if Rodgers goes down, but the kid has all the tools.
